Project Blue Book: The Air Force and UFOs
With the dawn of the atomic age, America turned its anxious eyes to the sky. Reports of unidentified aircraft and unexplained aerial phenomena captured the public’s imagination. The United States Air Force was tasked to study these mysterious sightings and determine what threat they posed to national security. Brett Stolle, curator and project manager at the National Museum of the US Air Force at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, will summarize the history of the US Air Force’s investigation of unidentified flying objects from 1947 to 1969—highlighting key sightings, their scientific conclusions, and the subsequent impact on pop culture.
