Sewing Basics - PJ Pants - Intro to Garment Construction
PJ pants are a fantastic way to get introduced into sewing garments. They are a fun and fast sewing project that has six pieces total to sew together. In this class, you to learn about putting pattern pieces together and finishing techniques!
Prerequisites:
Sewing Basics (or equal skill – can thread machine, fill bobbin, use seam allowance)
—Unraveling the Mystery of a Sewing Pattern (not a prerequisite but would be helpful!)
Skill Level: Intermediate Beginner
Ages: 13 + (adults are welcome)
Max Students: 4
What you will learn:
Pinning
Finishing the raw edges
Hemming
How to make a casing
Feeding Elastic

Troubleshooting
What you need to bring: — Please CONTACT ME with any questions
We are using Simplicity 4101 – View D only without the cargo pocket and elastic waist
Please see back of pattern envelope for sizing materials needed.
Matching Thread
2.5-3 yards of fabric (prewashed and yardage depends on size you are making)
Please have your pattern pieces and fabric precut and marked before coming to class.
