An intro to sewing garments class! You ever wanted to start learning how to make your clothing? Don’t be discouraged; It’s not as hard as you think, with the right instruction, a little practice you are going to love making these essential staple pieces in no time!
This shirt is a loose fit, batwing style top that is comfortable for all body shapes. You can also alter the pattern to be off the shoulder!
Prerequisites: Sewing Basics or equivalent skill is useful but not required
What you will learn:
Seam allowance
Cutting Knit
Knit/Stretch Needles and why we use them
Using the stretch stitch
Pinning
Backstitching
Finishing techniques
Ages: 10 – 18
Max Students: 5
Bring:
A tee shirt with you that you like the fit.
1-1.5 Yards of Stretch Knit (95% cotton 5% spandex)
Thread
Needle
Basic sewing kit
Sewing Machine or use mine (for free) if you need one! – I love the Brother CS6000i
