The Who's Tommy in Concert

Jeans ’n Classics joins the DPO to present The Who’s original rock opera, Tommy. This rock opera was first performed on stage in 1969 but then made it to the movie theaters in 1975.

The songs for the opera and the corresponding album were mostly written by The Who’s Pete Townsend, telling the story of Tommy, a deaf, dumb, and blind boy, and focusing on his life and family relationships. Many of the songs from Tommy stand on their own and have been hits for The Who: “See Me, Feel Me,” “Pinball Wizard,” “I’m Free,” and “We’re Not Gonna Take It.” You’ve heard the songs on the radio . . . now witness the performance on stage.

“Rock ‘n Roll might not solve your problems, but it does let you dance all over them.” (Pete Townsend) . . . Buy your ticket; bring your problems; dance the night away!
