About the Young Talent Search:
Since 2009, Dayton Public Radio/Discover Classical 88.1, 89.1 & 89.9FM has conducted its annual Young Talent Search, a celebration of outstanding young classical musicians in the region. The contest is open to all classical musicians and vocalists 18 and younger in the Miami Valley region. Through a blind audition, a panel of local judges selects a group of young artists to receive a prize package including a cash honorarium, on-air interviews, and the chance to perform at a free public concert. Past Young Talent Search winners have gone on to perform on some the world’s biggest stages, including Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C

Discover Classical's Young Talent Search Concert is made possible thanks to support from the University of Dayton's Department of Music, and from Vernon and Janet Fernandes.
