SICSA Pet Adoption and Wellness Center hosts The Poop Show – Turd Annual

The SICSA Pet Adoption and Wellness Center (SICSA) has found success in dog poop.  In fact, they created an event around it appropriately enough called The Poop Show.  This tongue-in-cheek event got its start in 2020 at the height of the pandemic when they were forced to cancel their annual fundraiser, The Cat’s Meow.  “We were truly worried,” stated Nora Vondrell, CEO and President of SICSA.  “Events are an important source of our annual funding.  Instead of panicking, we came up with this idea of guessing where a dog would poop in the play yard and making a fundraiser out of it.

SICSA Turd Annual The Poop ShowOf course, 2020 was a bit of a crappy year for people, so we named this fundraiser ‘The Poop Show’,” continued Vondrell.  “The event was a tremendous success for us, and now here we are two years later, presenting the Turd Annual!”

One lucky winner may win $10,000 by purchasing a ‘chance’ to be randomly assigned to a one-foot square in a SICSA play yard.  There are 1,202 squares in the play yard.  On the day of the event, a dog is brought into the play yard and when ‘doodie’ calls – and it will – wherever the dog poops is the winning square!  The person whose name is assigned to that spot will win the prize of $10,000.

SICSA will host The Poop Show as an online streaming event on YouTube and Facebook on Friday, September 16, 2022, at 5:30 p.m.  New this year, they are also holding an in-person component to the event, a Tail-Gate party beginning at 4:00 p.m.  “We are excited to have an in-person part this year. The committee is planning on having games like corn-hole, concessions, providing tours, and more,” stated Vondrell.
