Basic Bread Baking
Join us in the farmhouse for a hands-on lesson about mixing, shaping and baking breads. Students will prepare a batch of dough for pain de mie and, using some pre-risen dough, bake baguettes and an epi and in a wood-fired oven. A molded bread will be steamed on top of the wood-fired stove. Students will also enjoy baked samples while waiting for the second rise of their bread dough. Recipes, a dough bowl (with enough dough for one loaf), a dough scraper and sample breads will also be included in the bountiful items the student takes home. Weather Dependent.
