Area vs. Perimeter - Bunny Hopping - Problem of the Day. Area and perimeter are math concepts used to describe two-dimensional shapes. #LearningIsFun

Mo' Bunnies, Mo' Problems!

Perimeter is the distance around atwo-dimensional shape and area is a measurement of the size of a two-dimensional surface. We need to know the perimeter of our yard to figure out how much fencing to buy to fence our yard, but we need to know the area of our yard to know how much fertilizer we need to care for that same yard.

Now that spring is officially here, getting outside to do the things that winter has kept us from, like, tending to our yards and enjoying the warm sunshine, are the perfect way to have fun learning together! Mister C invites you to join him on an outside adventure to solve a problem for a pet bunny. Watch the video below and think about how you see area and perimeter at your house. Do you think that changing the perimeter will change the area for the bunny play area? What rectangular shape will give the most play area? Have some fun exploring the AREAS around where you live!

Whether you are a parent, grandparent, aunt/uncle, teacher, or friend, we can all take the time to help kids reach their full potential. Mister C invites you all to join him to explore the wonders of the world around us to LEARN TOGETHER!

When Mister C is not in the lab experimenting or in the studio dropping beats, he loves to connect with other learners online. Share how you’re having fun learning this week and use #LearnTogetherDayton to show everyone what you have learned with Mister C!
