2.5 miles in a canoe/kayak, a 5k run along the Great Miami Riverway and a 10 mile bike ride through the countryside.
The triathlon includes: 2.5 miles in a canoe/kayak (drop in at Case Landing/Riverfront Park and take out at Rice Field), a 5k run along the flat and scenic Great Miami Riverway and finishes with an 10 mile bike ride through the countryside of Miamisburg and Franklin. The course is clearly marked with signs and volunteers along the way. Participants can participate as solo or as a two-person team. For the two-person teams, canoes, paddles and PFD’s are included with entry fee. Solo participants only need to bring their own kayak or rent one by calling Barefoot Canoes at 937-698-4351. Reservations for a kayak must be made by Wednesday, August 11 at 5 p.m. The cost is $20 for a kayak, kayak paddle and PFD and includes delivery to and from Riverfront Park.
Rules of the road and helmets are mandatory for the bike portion of the race. Proceeds benefit the Miamisburg Youth Scholarship Fund. Riverfront Park is located at 3 N. Miami Ave.in downtown Miamisburg. There is plenty of free parking available. Shirts are guaranteed if registered by July 31. All finishers receive an award.
