"Everything is Better with Bacon!"
Sunday, August 17, 2014 starting at 2:00 PM
What’s cookin’ this summer at Fraze? Why, only the greatest food item on planet Earth - BACON. Under the hot summer sun, savor the flavor of breakfast’s favorite side item. Whether you’re in the crispy bacon or chewy bacon camp, Baconfest is BACK!
The name alone should make bacon lovers salivate – Baconfest is back with a vengeance.
It’s bigger this year, and it’s hungrier – believe it.
The event commemorating pork’s best side will return to Fraze Pavilion this July with more restaurants, more food, and dishes that will make you want to kick off the front door. Twenty restaurants will converge on the Fraze August 17 with live music from Linden Davis Group, the Skeptical Cats, Classic Rock Experience and The Devonshires.
“This year we have a lot more room in the pavilion,” said Amy Zahora, executive director of the Miami Valley Restaurant Association, which is hosting the event. “We have more restaurants, a better booth layout, and w’ll have live music all day on the main stage.”
Among the dishes you can expect there?
Archer’s Tavern has ambitious plans with bacon-wrapped hot dogs, while Seafood Maestros The Dock are looking at crab cakes and some bacon elements. Coco’s Bistro will be serving Maple Bacon Cheesecake, and Dayton banner – Marion’s Piazza – they’re bringing in bacon pizza, which if you’ve ever eaten there, is serious business. Scroll down for the full line-up of restaurants and menu details.
Free and open to the public, the event will be a “pay as you go” option with lots of restaurants offering dishes to try. Gates open at 2 p.m. and music goes well past 8:30.
