The largest of its kind in the nation - over 225 exhibitors, demonstrations, competitions, special exhibits, hourly door prizes and more!
The 35th annual Artistry in Wood Show will be held September 3-4, 2016, at the Roberts Centre in Wilmington, Ohio. Hours for the Show are 10 am - 6 pm on Saturday, September 3, and 10 am - 5 pm on Sunday, September 4. Adult admission is $8/day or $10 for a two-day pass. Scouts in uniform and children under 12 are admitted free.
Hosted by the Dayton Carvers Guild (Ohio), the Artistry in Wood Show is one of the largest of its kind in the nation, featuring over 200 exhibitors from across the United States and Canada. Unique gifts, artwork, holiday decorations, collectibles, and furniture and woodworking tools will be on display and available for purchase. Patrons will also be able to bid on items at a silent auction and buy raffle tickets for prizes, including a collection of handmade wooden ornaments. Three free woodworking demonstrations will be presented daily.
The special exhibit this year is Scott “Shuttleman” Phillips. Scott has worked with the U.S. Space Shuttle Program for over 30 years, from the first flight to the last, and has created wooden models for every shuttle flight, many signed by flight commanders, shuttle crews, and astronauts. His wooden shuttles are unique pieces of art, highlighting different woods from across the globe with only a clear finish on them. The Artistry in Wood Show is excited to highlight Scott’s work and bring another facet of aviation history to the Dayton area.
As always, a portion of the 2016 Artistry in Wood Show proceeds will be shared with United Rehabilitation Services of Greater Dayton (URS), a private, non-profit agency serving those suffering from disabilities and their families in the greater Dayton area and surrounding 11 counties. Since the inception of the Show, Artistry in Wood has donated over $140,000 to URS to support the organization’s programs and services.
