House of Frankenstein
In keeping with the holiday spirit, the Xenia Area Community Theatre is presenting the comedy-thriller The House Of Frankenstein by Martin Downing, October 24 through November 2 at the Kettering Health Network Theater. The story centers around that infamous scientist, Baron Victor Von Frankenstein, who has decided rather than attempting to create life, to turn his attention to healing the supposed incurable. One by one, the prospective patients arrive at his grim castle, each looking for help in ridding themselves of their vices, and it’s a who’s who of the classic horror movies of the 30’s and 40’s.
The Baron, along with his long suffering wife, Elizabeth and trusty assistant Ygor, play host to the likes of Wolfman, The Phantom of the Opera and none other than Count Dracula; each with their own ailment that they are looking to the Baron to cure. From the Wolfman seeking help for his hairy situation to Dracula’s odd sleep patterns, the Baron’s nightmarish evening becomes a highly entertaining, wise-cracking comedy horror.
The play opens Friday, October 24 with a special opening night gala starting at 6:30. The remainder of the schedule will have performances starting at 7:30 on Friday and Saturdays and 3:00 on Sundays. There will also be a special midnight show on Friday, October 31. Tickets for the gala are $20.00, all other performances are $17.00 for general admission and $14.00 for students and seniors.
