The Gruffalo's Child
One wild and windy night, The Gruffalo’s Child ignores her father’s warnings about the Big Bad Mouse and tiptoes out into the snow. By the time the little Gruffalo gets to the heart of the wood, she is beginning to have serious doubts about the scary mouse that her dad has told her about. Just about to go home, she sees a little mouse. But Mouse is not in the mood to be eaten and comes up with an ingenious plan to scare the little Gruffalo away. Standing on a twig as the moon shines, Mouse casts a big bad mousey shadow on the ground–and this is enough to send the Gruffalo’s Child running home. A musical based on the award-winning picture book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler and produced by Tall Stories of London, England.

WORKSHOP:
Come early or stay late, pack a lunch and choose one of our Frank M. Tait Foundation Discovery Workshops to make your visit to the Victoria Theatre even more valuable. Shadows can be scary, but not always. Light can play tricks on us, just like when something small like a mouse appears to be a giant! This workshop explores how light, shadow and our own imaginations can help create characters, scare us, and even make us laugh. This one-hour workshop is $100 and is limited to 25 students. Workshops are available year-round and are able to travel to your school. Call (937) 228-7591, x3039 to schedule this workshop.
CURRICULUM CONNECTIONS:
