GARDENING ENTHUSIASTS OF ALL EXPERIENCE LEVELS INVITED TO COMPLETE SURVEY FOR CHANCE TO WIN $1,000 GIFT CARD
RESULTS WILL INFORM FIVE RIVERS METROPARKS’ GARDENING PROGRAMS.

Five Rivers MetroParks is embarking on an initiative to improve the gardening and landscaping programming it offers local residents — and residents’ help is needed.

Five Rivers MetroParks invites anyone with an interest in gardening to complete a 15-minute online survey about their interest and experience with gardening. People of all skill levels are invited to participate, from those who see gardening as mowing the lawn to those growing enough food to feed the neighborhood.

Visit www.metroparks.org/survey to take the voluntary and confidential survey. Everyone who completes the survey will be entered to win a $1,000 gift certificate to the Montgomery County home and garden center of their choice.

“As a conservation agency, we strive to educate as many residents as possible on how to use environmentally sound gardening and landscaping practices to improve air, soil and water quality and encourage biodiversity for wildlife,” said Bernadette Whitworth, horticulture and agriculture program manager for Five Rivers MetroParks. “We also want show folks that working in the dirt can be fun and rewarding. That means it’s very important we ensure the programs Five Rivers MetroParks offers meet the needs of our community.”

The survey includes multiple choice and open-ended questions and asks about personal behaviors, experiences and attitudes concerning gardening and landscaping. Participants must complete the survey in its entirety to be eligible to win the $1,000 gift certificate, although it is possible to save answers and return to the survey later.

The winner will be notified within one week of the close of the survey (Nov. 30, 2014). Visit the rules page for more information.
