Troy Night Market
The Troy Night Market will be held from 4-7 pm at the Troy REC located at 11N. Market Street in historic downtown Troy on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month October 6th 2015 through May 17th, 2016. The market is a collaboration of local farmers market vendors who grow and produce ‘Local Foods” and food related items. The market is being presented with the support of producers who are volunteer committee members of The Miami County Food Council under the guidance of The OSU Miami County Extension Office.
Many of the Troy Night Market vendors, are participants in other area community Farmers Markets that operate during the summer who wanted to be able to offer their products at a “Local Market” during the months when the outdoor community markets do not operate.
The Troy Night Market vendors embrace the slogan “In Support of Local Food” and will be offering a variety of locally based food products for sale. Products include homemade jams, jellies, fruit butters, breads, pies,cookies, sweet rolls,quick breads, gourmet roasted coffee, herbal seasonings, herbal mixes, tea blends, candy, honey, sorghum, sweet hot relish, popping corn, locally grown meats and eggs to order, and many other items. Seasonal fresh produce, herbs, flowers and garden plants will also be offered in season. The market will also offer a limited number of handmade kitchen/household related items such as soaps, lotions, natural cleaners, ceramic ware, rolling pins and hand crafted linens.
Vendors will be offering free samples of “Local Food “ in order to acquaint market attendees with their products. and market attendees are encouraged to sign up for free “Local Foods” prizes that will be awarded periodically at the markets and will consist of a variety of locally produced products provided by the “Troy Night Market” vendors.
Area non- profits will be featured at the market along with a Market Education Table to raise community awareness, in addition to youth groups that will showcase their projects on some market dates.
The Troy REC will host the “Troy Night Market” market in the first floor gymnasium that can be accessed by the Water Street entrance located on the north end of the Troy REC located at 11N. Market Street, next to the city parking lot on the corner of N. Market and E. Water St. just north of the Troy Square on the East side of the street on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month through May 17th of 2016. The “Troy Night Market “ can also be accessed from the bike path by taking a quick ride over the Market Street Bridge in downtown Troy.
