6:00pm The festivities begin with free appetizers courtesy Wheat Penny Oven and Bar and a cash bar, where patrons will be able to order the special “Monk’s Ale,” fit for the occasion.

7:00pm Stage Director Gary Briggle will give background on The Book Collector and its unique connection to Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana.  Then, Angela Mortellaro, Andrew Owens, and Andrew Garland– will take the stage to give party-goers a small taste of the opera as they each sing an aria from Stella Sung’s The Book Collector.  In between performances, attendees will hear a few cast members, including a dancer from Dayton Ballet and a chorus member from Dayton Opera Chorus, talk about their involvement and experience thus far in this monumental world premiere.

8:00pm The Human Race Theatre Company Resident Artist Tim Lile, who plays the role of The Auctioneer in The Book Collector, will conduct a fun, friendly, live auction where Cast Blast attendees can use their fistfuls of fake money handed to them at the door to bid on a few small door prizes.
