Omega Music Celebrates 33 1/3 Years in Dayton

“It’s a remarkable landmark for any independent business and a meaningful number in music with 33 1/3rd RPM on LPs,” Alex Staiger, Omega Music owner said. “So we wanted to put together something special to mark the occasion, for us and for our customers.”

Omega Music, Dayton OhioOriginally founded on North Main Street by Alex’s father, Gary Staiger, Omega Music relocated to its current location in the Oregon District in late 2010.

“There was a lot of nostalgia tied to the old store but when ?Gem City Records? closed and that building opened up it was too great of an opportunity to pass up,” Staiger said. “It’s been amazing. People are excited to have a music shop downtown. A place to checkout new music and have chance conversations with likeminded folks.”

To commemorate the occasion on Friday there will be foodtrucks behind the shop, live music inside, the kickoff to the new limited edition sticker program and three and a third exclusive tshirts for sale.

“We’re really having fun with the concept,” Staiger said. “So at this event, we’ll have three exclusive tshirts for sale and then a special ‘third’ of a shirt in the form of a crop top, onesie or handkerchief, available only with the other shirts as a $33.33 bundle.”
