From the Heart: The Texas Tenors

Over 100 million people from around the world tuned in to NBC’s America’s Got Talent in 2009 to see The Texas Tenors become the highest-ranking vocal group in the history of the show. From Alabama to Puccini, John Hagen, Marcus Collins, and JC Fisher bring their unique blend of country, gospel, classical, and Broadway to the stage with breathtaking vocals, humor, and cowboy charm. The Texas Tenors have traveled the globe, performing more than 500 concerts in the last four years. The Tenors have collaborated with numerous symphonies, including the Houston Symphony, Cleveland Pops, Kansas City Symphony, Austin Symphony, Phoenix Symphony, and Prague Philharmonic, to name a few. They have performed for such notable organizations as the Van Cliburn and Autry Foundations, Conoco-Phillps, Mutual of Omaha, Houston Rockets, Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino Las Vegas, Foxwoods Resort and Casino, Royal Caribbean International, Pro Bull Riders World Championships, and many others.

John, Marcus, and JC have been to more than twenty countries, including a 24-city tour of the UK and a tour of China. When not on tour, the boys can be found in several cities across the country for extended runs, including over 60 concerts each fall at the Starlite Theatre in Branson, Missouri, where they were named 2011 and 2012 Critic’s Choice Group of the Year and Ensemble of the Year.

Their debut album, Country Roots—Classical Sound, has the distinction of being the only independent album to be number one on both the country and classical charts, according to CD Baby. They’ve also released the DVD The Texas Tenors Live In Concert. The winter of 2013 saw the release of their second album, You Should Dream, featuring a 65-piece orchestra and original songs to coincide with the December 2013 airing of their first PBS special, "The Texas Tenors: You Should Dream Live."

And now they bring the special magic of their music to the Schuster Center’s Mead Theatre stage so that you can enjoy and dream, indeed, to a sound as large and as beautiful as Texas itself.
