Dayton Philharmonic - The Music of Elton John

Rolling Stone magazine puts his music into the category of music that helped define an age when “radio still mattered more than television.” Elton John is also one of the most highly acclaimed and successful solo artists of all time. He has achieved 38 gold and 31 platinum or multiplatinum albums, has sold more than 250 million records worldwide, and holds the record for the biggest selling single of all time. In addition, Elton has 3 Oscar Award nominations (winning in 1995), and a Tony Award (with 4 nominations) for Best Original Score for Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida in 2000. This November, the Dayton Philharmonic is honored to pay tribute to this music powerhouse!

Michael Cavanaugh is the new voice of the American Rock & Roll Songbook and a charismatic performer, musician and actor. He recently joined the DPO for a knock-out concert of The Music of Billy Joel. Cavanaugh returns to Dayton by popular demand, joining the DPO to perform some of Sir Elton John's most famous hits, including “Tiny Dancer,” “Rocket Man,” “Bennie and the Jets,” as well as “Your Song” – Elton’s first big hit.
But wait! The concert also features other classic rock standards, such as “Pinball Wizard,” “Live and Let Die,” and “American Pie.”

“My gift is my song and this song’s for you.” . . . And this evening of music is for you; grab your tickets now!
