Stars, S'mores and More
Local astronomers will have telescopes set up outside and a warm haven inside with a fire just in case of cold. Cold air usually means clear skies and we will plan to see our nearest neighboring solar system! Venus and Mars will be visible early in the west. The Moon will be high in the sky as a waxing gibbous (more than 50% illuminated) with some of the 370 mile long Apennine mountain range and most of the Caucasus mountains being visible along the terminator of light and dark. This area on the Moon is known for its natural beauty and as the landing site for the Apollo 15 mission. Feel free to bring your own binoculars or telescope to explore the wilderness above us! This program will be cancelled during cloudy skies. No registration required. This event is for all ages.
