Beat the Rainy Summer Blues at Fairhaven Church’s Play Area

Fairhaven Church Play Area

It’s a problem that has plagued parents all over Dayton for seemingly the entire season: the summer bucket list is filled with outdoor activities, but the summer forecast has been filled with rain.  Thankfully, there are still places you can take your little ones to expend all their energy, even when it’s raining—and at Fairhaven Church’s Play Area, it’s free!

Open to ages 6 and under, the Play Area at Fairhaven Church the perfect place to take your little ones on a rainy day. Located at 637 E. Whipp Rd. in Centerville and open to the public from Monday-Friday from 12:00-4:00 p.m., Fairhaven features a soft play area for ages 0-2 and a tube play area for ages 3-6.

Perfect for crawlers and little climbers, the soft play area is cushioned and allows youngsters to climb and play in a safe environment. The tube area consists of a slide, climbing features, giant bouncing balls, and obstacle type elements—full of fun for you older ones to enjoy.

Upon arriving at Fairhaven, the friendly receptionists can point you to the play area where they will check you in, give your child a name tag, and review the rules with you—namely that children are to be attended at all times; unsupervised children and their parents will be asked to leave in an effort to keep the space safe for everyone.

While food and drink are not permitted inside the play area, the lobby outside the play room features tables perfect for a picnic lunch surrounded by painted murals, along with bathrooms and changing areas. The Church itself even has a café where you can grab a coffee or snack during your visit.

Open year-round to church members and non-members alike, Fairhaven provides a respite from the rain in the summer or cold in the winter, and is the perfect place for your little people to play for the perfect price--free!  For more information, download this PDF.
