December 12, 2016 - The Dayton Area Board of Realtors will be following Santa Claus to the Boys & Girls Club of Dayton on Monday, December 12 at 5:30pm. Santa and his Realtor elves will bring a little holiday cheer to approximately one hundred children during the Boys & Girls Club’s annual Christmas party, sponsored by the Dayton Area Board of Realtors.

Cookies, refreshments, gifts, and fun activities are all in store for the children. Plus, the kids will not only receive, they will give: they will be making homemade Christmas cards to be delivered to kids at Children’s Medical Center.

“Sponsoring the Boys & Girls Club’s Christmas party is a great way for everyone involved to get into the holiday spirit,” stated Michael Martin, president of the Dayton Area Board of Realtors. “It’s also a great opportunity to show the kids how much enjoyment and satisfaction they can have by giving back at the same time, and the card-making project will highlight that. It’s going to be so much fun!”

During the party, the Dayton Area Board of Realtors will also unveil a new school supply pantry at the Boys & Girls Club. This pantry will be stocked with paper, pencils, notebooks and many other supplies that the kids will be able to use throughout the year for their homework, crafting, and tutoring needs.

“The Boys & Girls Club of Dayton is excited about our relationship with the Dayton Area Board of Realtors,” said Natasha Spears, chief executive officer of Boys & Girls Club of Dayton. “It means so much when members of the business community become invested in the lives of the students and families we serve.”

Realtors are community builders, and they take part in a number of local initiatives throughout the year - from volunteering their muscle with Rebuilding Together Dayton, to donating money and materials to Dayton area schools and credit counseling services. DABR’s Foundation provides scholarships to dependents of Realtors, and their annual holiday reception serves as Dayton’s largest source of donated toys to the Marine Corp’s Toys for Tots.
